Content & Design A web site should be distinct in design and feel. Design reflects content. Together, design and content give a site its voice. The fun and joy of creating web sites is finding the particular voice for each of these little cities in cyberspace... Personal Sites (sites I own) Unloved Crimes uses stark colors to reflect the nature of the content: unsolved crimes. I created all the content including graphics, text, photographs, audio, & video, for this site. Unloved Crimes Flash Ad (opens in new window) Parrot Parrot has more of a homey, friendly feel because it deals with a family-oriented subject, pet birds. All content is original. My work on this site led to my position as the Guide for Pet Birds at About.com. For almost 2 years I developed all of the content for the About.com portal to the pet bird community. A wonderful group of regular visitors participated in the ongoing discussion of parrots and other pet birds. That discussion forum has continued despite About's changing their taxonomy, which resulted in the end to the Pet Birds section. The new forum is here. Flash Ad for ParrotParrot.com (opens in new window) I then became the webmaster and designer for the African Love Bird Society's website. Step into the colorful world of these little parrots. Crime Spider was inspired by my frustration when trying to find interesting crime and law enforcement sites on the web. I was tried of digging through dozens of meaningless search engine results when doing research on a crime topic for my own writing. I started to compile links and decided to share my database with other surfers interested in crime and law enforcement. This site contains mainly personal projects, if you would like to see my full professional portfolio, please contact me.
